Shoreham Port was delighted to return to the Adur and Worthing business awards and to show their support to other local businesses. As previous winners of the Large Business Award in 2011 the Port was in prime position to share their experience and to present the award to the 2012 winner.

Peter Davies, Development Director at Shoreham Port presented the award to Ricardo’s Director of Business, David Sheppard, and Senior Manager, Andrew Swayne.  Ricardo are based at the Shoreham Technical Centre and were recognized with the most ‘Innovative’ and best ‘Large Business’ awards, as well as with the coveted overall title of ‘Business of the Year’. The event was extremely well attended with many local businesses present at the ceremony.

David Sheppard, Director of Business at Ricardo said “I am pleased and honoured to be able to accept the three 2012 Adur and Worthing Business Awards on behalf of Ricardo. This company has been present in the local area for almost a century and throughout this time has remained focused on developing new technologies and innovations that improve energy efficiency and reduce or eliminate harmful emissions, especially within the transportation sectors.

While we have grown internationally we have also developed our base in Shoreham, providing high quality jobs and state-of-the-art equipment and facilities, such as the recently announced plans for the new Vehicle Emissions Research Centre for which we have been offered support from the Regional Growth Fund. I would like to thank the Worthing Herald and Shoreham Port for their sponsorship and the award organisers for their generosity in recognising Ricardo with these three awards.”

Peter Davies, Development Director commented “It is good to be part of something as successful as the Adur and Worthing Business Awards and to see local companies doing so well. Shoreham Port is keen to support striving businesses in the local area and was delighted to be asked to sponsor the award.  It was a most enjoyable evening with some very happy winners. The event was well organised and it was a pleasure to be there.”
