Are you looking to kickstart a career in Health & Safety? This apprenticeship offers a unique ‘behind the scenes’ look at how a major commercial port manages safety across a diverse range of activities.
Working with our Health & Safety team, you will gain hands-on-experience in a fast-paced industrial environment. You won’t just be sitting at a desk; you’ll be out on the Port learning how to identify and manage risks, all while supporting a positive safety culture. You will also receive support and mentoring from our Head of Health & Safety, a Chartered Health & Safety and Risk Management professional.

With a diverse business portfolio spanning cargo handling, commercial property, a temporary agency and hospitality venue as well as an HGV fleet, this apprenticeship offers a unique opportunity to learn about a number of businesses in the one location while working alongside over 200 colleagues. Â

| Early July 2026 | Getting to know You: We will invite candidates to an assessment event. We pride ourselves on our colleagues being their authentic self at work and so the event will be informal and will be a great opportunity to meet other candidates. It is likely to involve some group discussion, a job-related activity and a short interview with members of the team. Don’t worry, this is an opportunity for you to get to know us, and for us to get to know you, in a friendly and welcoming environment. |

| August 2026 | The successful candidate will be asked to attend an enrolment day at a specialist training centre. |
