Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)
As a Trust Port we aim to support our local community in many different ways; from colleagues volunteering, using their expertise to help the local community, through to litter picks with community groups and fundraising charity days. Activities like these enable us to give back to our community. If you are interested in discussing how we can work together, please contact us to discuss your request.
Our community partners
Alongside the CSR activities we arrange, we have formed exciting partnerships with a variety of organisations to benefit our local community.

Education Partner: The Girls' Network
The Girls’ Network works to inspire and empower 14-19 year old girls by building their confidence, self-esteem and aspirations through 121 mentoring and access to a network of role models, through delivering workshops on life skills and providing access to new opportunities. Female colleagues at Shoreham Port are mentoring girls from the local area through The Girls’ Network and we are thrilled to expand this effort through an official community partnership.

Research and Conservation Partner: Sussex Dolphin Project
The World Cetacean Alliance is the world’s largest marine conservation charity and Sussex Dolphin Project is their local initiative that celebrates and protects marine animals in Sussex, with their visitor centre based at our Port. We are working with the Sussex Dolphin Project to rewild our Port and to launch innovative nature and conservation projects.

Maritime Education Partner: Lancing Sea Scouts
The 3rd/5th Lancing Sea Scouts are a valued member of our Port community and play a key role in educating young people about nautical and marine safety. We have supported Lancing Sea Scouts since 2020 and are proud to be home to their sail training vessel ‘Supeta’. The Sea Scouts use Supeta to offer young people of all backgrounds, abilities, and disabilities the rare chance to experience sailing and living on an ocean-going yacht.

Community Partner: Southeast Communities Rail Partnership (SCRP)
We are pleased to have been a Station Partner of Southwick Railway Station since 2012 and have been involved in a number of station improvement schemes; most recently supporting a community garden initiative with the newly formed ‘Friends of Southwick Station’ group. We look forward to the garden opening soon and being enjoyed by our community.
