We ensure your orders arriving at Shoreham Port are efficiently discharged from the vessel to quayside, where they are scanned and barcoded for identification.

From the moment goods arrive with us, they are recorded on our bespoke Track-A-Pack system, which allows our customers to view real-time information about their stock. Orders will be securely stored in our warehouse until cleared for customs and we are given instruction to deliver the goods to their final destination.

The port operatives will then pick the order, ensuring goods are collated in place for easy collection. As well as working with trusted third-party hauliers, we can now offer in-house road freight through our new HGV fleet, securing even greater control and certainty over bookings and deliveries

We’re the largest timber handling port on the south coast of England, handling up to 20% of all UK timber imports. Our haulage team distributes over 450,000m3 of timber throughout the UK each year and can assist you with timber haulage solutions to all parts of the UK and beyond.

How has Brexit affected the freight forwarding service?

There are certainly more admin and cargo checks applicable now. However, Shoreham Port’s Customs Clearance team can support you in this process, we have a dedicated & experienced team, with a support system in place for all manner of import & export enquiries to & from the UK.

Will the freight forwarder team handle customs clearance for me?

Yes we do offer a customs clearance service which is led by the Customs Clearance division. Almost all of our customers use our internal service but we are also happy for you to use external agents, just let us know your preference.

How much does freight forwarding cost?

The cost of freight forwarding varies depending on the level of customer service required. We offer competitive transport and storage rates – please contact our dedicated team to get a personalised quote.

Do I need to purchase cargo insurance?

This depends on the type of cargo. We will require insurance details relating to any new cargo enquiries. If not known, we can offer support by means of recommendations to you.
