This week Shoreham Port invited customers and contractors for a day at the races at Fontwell Park to celebrate another successful year of trading and to thank them for their continued support. Shoreham Port’s annual Customer Day is an excellent social and networking event and is always very well attended, even by customer’s travelling from as far as Sweden and Latvia.
The day started with a welcome from Shoreham Port’s Chief Executive, Rodney Lunn and the Chairman of the Board, Jim May. After lunch and general discussions the racing commenced. The highlight of the afternoon was the Shoreham Port Handicap Chase, described by the commentator as the most competitive race of the afternoon! After an exciting close finish, Shoreham Port staff and guests gathered by the winner’s enclosure to watch Jim May and Fiona Morris, Board Member present the prize to the winning connections of Overclear.
Andy Roberts from Cemex, a huge supporter of the port, commented “It has been a fantastic day, and very nice to meet the faces behind Shoreham Port and network in a relaxed and fun environment.
Charles Haywood, Director at MacConvilles, a major contractor, added “I have really enjoyed the day, despite only winning on one race! It is a great occasion to build relationships and meet Shoreham Port’s customers and hopefully develop future business opportunities.
Rodney Lunn, Chief Executive at Shoreham Port said “Thank you to everyone who joined us at Fontwell. An excellent day was had by all, helped by the good weather! Our Customer Day is an important occasion for us to thank our customers for their continued support and to discuss in an informal environment current operations and future outlook.
