Following excellent feedback from last year’s customer event day, Shoreham Port has hosted its second successful networking day at Fontwell Park Racecourse in West Sussex. This year’s customer race day was very well attended with 70 customers, clients, suppliers and Board members joining us for the afternoon.

The objective of the day was to network and get to know our customers and contractors better in an informal atmosphere, with racing as a good ice breaker. The tipster was in demand providing information on the best horses, and there were many lucky winners on the day. Our event coincided with the start of the Fontwell Park Racing Festival so there was an excellent selection of horses, jockeys, owners and trainers in attendance, which added to the atmosphere.

Shoreham Port took the opportunity to sponsor a race, which heightened the port’s profile and added an extra dimension to the day for their customers.  The day was rounded off with the Chairman of the Board, Dennis Scard presenting a trophy to the owner of the winning horse for Shoreham Port’s race.  Fountains Flypass was the winning horse, owned by The Fountains Partnership.

Shoreham Port received excellent feedback during and after the day. Camilla Niemela from QP Timber Ltd commented “Shoreham Port provide a great service and it was a pleasure to meet the Board and staff - I thoroughly enjoyed myself and soaked up the fantastic atmosphere”.

Rodney Lunn, Chief Executive of Shoreham Port said, “Our customer event day is the ideal opportunity to thank our customers and contractors for their business and to strengthen our relationships for the future. An excellent day was had by all and many thanks to those that attended and support the port”.
