Shoreham Port is delighted to announce that Joanne Mitchell has joined our team as our new receptionist.
Joanne has spent the last few years working in various administration departments for local companies and will now apply her skills as the friendly face of the front desk of Shoreham Port's 'Nautilus House'.
Joanne grew up in Peacehaven and now lives in Brighton. She has driven past the Port many times and has always been intrigued about the daily operations and the variety of visiting vessels. Joanne commented, "I am really looking forward to this career move. Shoreham Port is a very exciting company to work for, and I'm hoping I can provide the support and hone my skills and experiences with this new and challenging position".
Paul Johnson, Safety & HR Director, said "it's an exciting time at the Port, with various recruiting campaigns underway and I'm confident Joanne will fit in well within the team".
Welcome to Shoreham Port Joanne - we're all looking forward to working with you.
Carl Aichroth, a long-standing member of the Diving and Civil Engineering Works Team at the Port, has been promoted to the role of Engineering Senior Supervisor. The new role is a natural progression for Carl, who has helped organise the work of the team for some years.
The promotion means Carl will spend more of his time planning construction, repair and diving works and supervising the work of the team and outside contractors on site. Carl is also particularly keen to help the development of the whole team with appropriate training and mentoring. Carl said "I'm very much looking forward to putting my stamp on the new role and meeting the wider challenges it poses. "
The Port's Director of Engineering, Tony Parker, is convinced that Carl is the ideal person for the job. Tony pointed out that "Carl's experience and wide set of skills will be invaluable in helping us to keep up with our ever-growing engineering workload as the Port's business expands and diversifies".
