Shoreham Port has recently sponsored local football club L & S Athletic £700 to fund a new kit which will be used by the team for the next three seasons. Chris Lawrence, manager of L & S Athletic works at Shoreham Port in the engineering team and took the opportunity to approach the management team and request funding for the local club. The image on the right shows the new kit in use at a training session.
L & S Athletic are a popular club based at Monks Recreation ground in Lancing. The club has been running for 11 years and in that time over 500 people have come along to their training sessions. L&S Athletic made it to two cup finals and came second in their league last season.
Chris Lawrence, said “We are extremely grateful to Shoreham Port for their generosity, without sponsorship teams like us would really struggle financially, this is a massive help and the team are over the moon with the new kit. We have had a great start to the season winning 7 of our 8 games. We are currently top of the league and progressing very well in all of the cups”.
Shoreham Port recognises the importance of supporting clubs and charities in the local area and is keen to reach all areas of the community. Rodney Lunn, Chief Executive of Shoreham Port said “ We are very pleased to be supporting L & S Athletic as they have a good presence locally and it was a great way to engage with a vast number of local players and supporters. We wish them every success this season”.
