Shoreham Port hosted its first sell out day of boat tours for 2017 as part of the Brighton Fringe Festival on Monday. Over 240 visitors embarked on a boat tour with live commentary along the canal, the impounded basin, taking in all the action from the terminals.
The live commentary was provided by the Senior Leadership Team at Shoreham Port and covered a wide range of topics from the Port’s performance, updates on keys cargoes and major tenants and the Port’s plans for the future, having just updated their Masterplan.
Katie Orchin, Marketing & Communications Manager at Shoreham Port commented “Thank you to everyone who came down for a tour. Despite the chilly weather everyone had a fantastic time and we thoroughly enjoyed meeting and talking with our visitors. We are very proud to be part of the Brighton Fringe line-up and look forward to offering our tours again next year.
Sarah Cook who attended one of the tours commented “Thank you for a really interesting morning. I had no idea how much went on at Shoreham Port. The ice cream was a welcome treat too!”
Vonnie Huguenet, who also attended one of the tours, commented “The event was very well organised and the tour was extremely informative. It was really interesting to hear about Shoreham’s role as an Eco Port and everything they do to make the Port more sustainable. It was great to have some of the publications available to take home and I particularly enjoyed my free ice cream!”
Shoreham Port’s next series of boat tours are being held from the 18th to the 21st July. The tours are now fully booked but if you would like to join the waiting list for a tour please visit www.shoreham-port.co.uk/Boat-Tours.
