Shoreham

Port has recently sponsored Harry O’Neill, in order to help him to purchase kit and equipment for the Junior Home

International Shore Championships. Harry’s father has worked at Shoreham Port

for a number of years in the engineering department and he approached the

management team to request funding for the local Angling Squad.

Harry has been hooked on fishing from

an early age. He is now 14 and his passion for fishing has led to him competing

as a match angler. Harry fishes for the Shoreham Angling Squad matches at

Worthing , Kingston Beach and Shoreham’s West Breakwater. He also helps out at

Worthing’s Prime Angling shop. Harry’s hard work and dedication has paid off as

he has been selected to represent England at the Junior Home International

Shore Championships held at Samphire Hoe, Kent on 6-7th July 2012.

Harry said “I am very grateful for the

sponsorship that I have received from Shoreham Port and this has gone towards

some much needed new fishing tackle. I am hoping to take my fishing to international

skill levels next year and I feel privileged to represent my country doing a

sport that I love”. Harry is still looking for sponsorship and if you

would like to contact him regarding this please email: goneill@shoreham-port.co.uk.

Rodney Lunn,

Chief Executive said “As a trust port at the heart of the community, we actively

support a broad range of local residents in their ambitions. We were pleased to

be able to help Harry and wish him every success at the International

Championships”.
