Shoreham Port has been working in partnership with Southern Rail on a station enhancement scheme to improve Southwick Station for the benefit of the local community and Southern Rail passengers. The Port has invested in signage at Southwick Station and hopes that this will provide greater certainty to their customers that their Nautilus House office is accessed via Southwick Station.

Sara Bassett, Finance Director commented “We hope that association with our local station will help to increase our profile and provide a more pleasant rail experience for our customers. We work very closely with a broad section of the community, many of whom use Southwick Station and we hope that our stakeholders can enjoy the new look of the station.”

Andy Leister, Southern’s Area Manager said “We’re very pleased to be working in partnership with Shoreham Port on another very worthwhile initiative. Passengers arriving at the station bound for Nautilus House don’t have the benefit of satnav, so this new signage will really make a difference.”

A few weeks ago, as part of the station enhancement scheme, Shoreham Port launched their first ever Community Art Project. The response so far has been fantastic with a very high standard of entry. In November the top three pieces of artwork will be selected and displayed at Southwick Station, which will greatly enhance the appearance of the station and also offer a busy location for the winning artwork to be displayed.

For more information on Shoreham Port’s Community Art Project please go to the news story on the Port’s website, which is accessible from the following link - http://www.shoreham-port.co.uk/Latest-News/SHOREHAM-PORTS-COMMUNITY-ART-PROJECT. The competition is open until the 31st October so there is still plenty of time to enter!
