This week Shoreham Port hosted their annual hospitality day at Fontwell Park Racecourse. The event gives Shoreham Port the opportunity to thank their customers and contractors for their ongoing support in a relaxed and informal setting.
The afternoon commenced with a welcome from Rodney Lunn, Chief Executive at Shoreham Port. Rodney thanked everyone for their attendance, especially the guests travelling from as far away as Latvia, Sweden and Finland to enjoy the day.
The afternoon included a line-up of seven thrilling races, with the fourth being Shoreham Port’s sponsored race, the Shoreham Port Handicap Chase (for the Alan Arnell Memorial Trophy). The race was won by I See You Well, ridden by Daniel Sansom, trained by Seamus Mullins and owned by Mr A Goodman.
The trophy was presented by Shoreham Port’s Non-Executive Board Member, Mark Lemmon and Marketing and Communications Manager, Katie MacAllister.
Katie commented “We had a fantastic day at Fontwell. This is the Port’s eighth consecutive year at the racecourse and it’s easy to see why. From the great atmosphere to the warm welcome from the team at Fontwell. The event remains a firm favorite with our customers and staff. It was brilliant to catch up with so many of our valued customers and build on the strong relationships we have with them.”
Jon Hall from Compass Forest Products Ltd commented “This is my second time at Fontwell Park with Shoreham Port. It has been a really well organised and an enjoyable day out. A big thank you to everyone at the Port for putting on such a successful event.”
Martin Baldwin, Managing Director at Edburtons Contractors Ltd commented “It was another successful outing at the annual Shoreham Port Customer Day. I’ve had a wonderful time and thoroughly enjoyed the company and event. Thank you to the Port for inviting me and being such good hosts. I look forward to next year!”
