Shoreham Port is pleased to announce the appointment of John Headley as a Non-Executive Director. John lives in the Preston Park area of Brighton and commutes to London where he is employed as Director of Finance at the University of East London. He is a qualified management accountant. He has worked for many years in senior financial positions, in the higher education sector, the NHS, and previously in the Bupa Group where he held divisional Finance Director positions in the UK and in Spain. John is a school governor and serves on the Audit Committee of the Economic and Social Research Council.

John commented “It is a privilege to join the Board of Directors at Shoreham Port. I look forward to working with the Board and the Senior Leadership Team. This is a very exciting time to be joining the Port and I’m looking forward to the challenges and opportunities to come.”

At the end of 2016 the Port bid farewell to Ian Postlethwaite who had served on the Board since 2011. Ian was a valued member of the Port’s Audit & Finance Committee, before more recently being appointed as Deputy Chair of the Board and Chair of the Remuneration & Nominations Committee in 2015.

Ian commented “I have had a fantastic time serving on the Board at Shoreham Port. I cannot believe how quickly the time has gone and how much has been achieved. It is staggering to see how the Port has continued to diversify and grow during some challenging economic times. I look forward to seeing it continue to develop over the coming years, with some exciting projects on the horizon. I would like to thank the Board, Senior Leadership Team and staff at Shoreham Port for their support; I will look back over my time at the Port with great fondness.”

Stuart Condie, Chair of the Board commented “I would like to wish a warm welcome to John from myself and all of the staff at Shoreham Port. We have a busy year ahead and I look forward to working with John. I would also like to wish Ian all the best for the future, it has been a pleasure to work with Ian and we are extremely grateful for his dedication and contribution to the success of the Port.”

Amber Foster has been appointed to take over from Ian as the Deputy Chair of the Board. Amber has been a board member at the Port since 2015 and is the Chair of the Port of Shoreham Trustee Company. She also represents the Board at a number of employee forums, such as the Health, Safety & Environment Committee and Employee Engagement Group. Stuart Condie continued “Amber has an extensive legal background and brings many expertise to the Board. She is well placed to take over from Ian, and to help steer the strategic direction of the Port.”
