Shoreham Port is delighted to welcome aboard Patrick Ovens, as the Port’s Financial Accountant. Patrick joined the team this month and has already settled into his role within the Port’s Operations Division, at Sussex Port Forwarding.
Patrick’s main responsibility is the management of Sussex Port Forwarding’s financial information and systems to include preparation of monthly management accounts, statutory yearend reporting and the production and analysis of reports, which provides financial information to help the Operations Division evaluate their performance.
Patrick commented on his move to Shoreham “Having worked in a general accounting practice for nearly 13 years I thought the time was right to move into industry. Shoreham Port offered that opportunity to work within a busy and varied commercial Port that will not only provide different challenges, but a stimulating work environment and hopefully the ability to progress into a variety of new roles”.
Outside of work Patrick’s main hobby is spending time with his family, Patrick has a seven year old son and a daughter on the way in October. Patrick admits his main focus is supporting Crystal Palace! Both he and his son are season ticket holders and watch every game they can manage to get to.
