Most hot food vendors sell their produce from vans or portable kitchens but the Red Snack Can has taken it one step further and is serving delicious hot and cold drinks and snacks from a converted, can shaped, vending van. The Red Snack Can has made the move to Shoreham Port and is one of the Port’s many tenants.
Tim Hague, Property Manager at Shoreham Port said “It is fantastic to see the Red Snack Can doing so well at the Port. The striking red cannot be missed as you are passing along Basin Road South. It is great for visitors and people working at the Port to be able to enjoy hot food at a very reasonable price all year round”.
Kim Storey has owned the Red Snack Can for two years after transporting it back from Germany, where it previously operated as a Bratwhurst vending van. The Red Snack Can provides popular snacks such as egg and bacon rolls, sausage and onion sandwiches and a range of cold sandwiches and baquettes including tuna mayo with fresh salad and cornbeef and coleslaw. There is also a selection of sweets and homemade chocolate brownies. Tea, coffee and cold cans too. The Red Snack Can delivers free of charge between 10am and midday to any local workers.
Kim Storey added “We have enjoyed the support from the Arcelor Mittal team and the Port’s dock workers and operations staff, who have become our regulars. No matter what the weather they are a cheerful bunch and make coming to work a pleasure!”
