Shoreham Port’s Poetry Competition is well underway and although the deadline is fast approaching, budding poets still have time to enter a poem. The closing date for entries is Friday 13th December.
Don’t miss your chance to have your poem presented at Southwick train station. The winner of the competition will be invited to the poem launch and receive inclusion on Shoreham Port’s website, as well as a port tour and tug ride for two followed by a complimentary lunch at Carats Café*. There are also great prizes for second and third place.
If you’re keen to submit a poem but are not sure where to start, why not take a trip down to the Port for some inspiration. Have a walk along the striking South coast, from Carats Café over to the breakwaters or Eastbound towards Hove Lagoon and take in the stunning scenery and crashing waves.
The team at Shoreham Port look forward to reading through a variety of entries in December. Rodney Lunn, Chief Executive at Shoreham Port added “This is a fantastic opportunity for aspiring poets to get their work noticed and receive some positive publicity. The Port is an excellent place to write about with no two days ever the same. As a thriving commercial port there is always plenty of action to take in”.
