The awards showcased all that is great about a community and I felt privileged to meet some truly inspirational people.”

The awards began with an entertaining video, featuring residents of Worthing performing their unique version of Gangnam Style! Guests were also treated to performances from a steel band and a young male choir. The awards concluded with a signature “How for Now” from Fred Dinenage.

Herald and Gazette editor-in-chief Colin Channon said “As always, it was a privilege to hear about so many ordinary people who do extraordinary things. The Community Stars awards is our way of saying ‘thank you’ to them.”

Rodney Lunn, Chief Executive at Shoreham Port added “Shoreham Port strives to benefit its local stakeholders through a number of different mediums from charity donations to port tours and community projects and sponsoring the Best Community Event was another means for us to engage and build relations with our local community. Congratulations to all of the winners and nominees.”
