The Prince Philip Lock will be closed to all marine traffic over the next week. The closure is due to essential maintenance works on the west gates. All vessels have been made aware that this is a full closure and the lock will NOT be operable until the work is completed.

The main lock gates at the west end of the lock will be removed by a large barge mounted crane, repaired, surveyed and re-installed over the 72 hour period detailed above.

This is critically important work for the Port and its continued level of service to its customers and has been meticulously planned to minimise risk and impact on all stakeholders.  However, please be aware that as a result of the work there will be an element of noise and light disturbance over the weekend whilst the teams work continuously for the 72 hour shutdown period.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused.
