Openness and transparency are very important to Shoreham Port, and they have many communication streams in place to keep their stakeholders up to date. One of the most popular sources of information is Shoreham Port’s website, which has received in excess of 91,000 visits in the last year.
One of the largest drivers of Shoreham Port’s website traffic is their news stories. In order to make it easier for their stakeholders to keep up to date with Port news, Shoreham Port has introduced a free ‘E-Alerts’ system. The alerts feature is designed to enable people to sign up for news, events and job updates from Shoreham Port’s website straight into their email inbox.
In addition to this, to keep the information as relevant as possible, there is a filter which enables people to specify particular content or key words which they would like to be updated on. For example a few people have opted to specifically be notified when content is added on Shoreham Port’s next open day. It is also possible to choose whether to receive updates weekly or nightly.
Sara Bassett, Finance Director said “the E-Alerts facility has been well received by our stakeholders and we are delighted that so many people want to keep up to date with our activities. The Alerts are another effective way we have found to continue to raise our profile and to communicate key messages.”
