We are delighted to be hosting Sustainability Week at Shoreham Port this September, in partnership with the Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC) and Sussex Dolphin Project (SDP). The exciting three-day event will be open to all and will offer a range of workshops and talks by local sustainability pioneers. This is a fantastic opportunity for our local community to learn about what’s happening at the Port and hear some of the ways we are contributing to a healthier environment and a more sustainable future.

The event will run from Wednesday 8th - Friday 10th of September 2021 and tickets are now available to secure your place at a wide variety of sustainability-focused events. Join us for a walking tour of the Port to identify key flora and fauna or a thrilling dolphin spotting workshop with Sussex Dolphin Project. An expert advisor from the British Ports Association will be delivering a fascinating talk looking at sustainability in ports, and you will have the opportunity to learn about our new venture - Port Kitchen from Polly, our General Manager of Port Kitchen. She will share her knowledge of environmentally friendly packaging and food options.

Cheyenne Plant, Sustainability Manager at Shoreham Port commented, “We are excited to be hosting Sustainability Week and having the opportunity to share our sustainability success stories with members of our local community. It will be a fantastic opportunity for members of the public to engage with environmental causes in their local area. We are combatting sustainability issues in all directions and hope you can join us in September to have fun and learn more about local environmental issues and their practical solutions.”

This event is being made possible through vital support from the Global Wind Energy Council. Their CEO Ben Backwell commented, "As the world wakes up to the scale of the climate crisis, companies, communities, businesses and investors are looking to transition to new, sustainable business models. Shoreham Port has shown great leadership in achieving Eco-Port status and building capacity in clean energy, and the whole Sussex area is reaping the benefits of the clean energy revolution through landmark projects like the Rampion Offshore Wind Farm.”

Ben continued “So for the Global Wind Energy Council, Shoreham Port is a great place to base our HQ and TV Studio. We are proud to be co-organisers of Shoreham Port's first Sustainability Week, which will provide an opportunity to open up and engage with the whole local community in the Sussex coast area, fellow tenants and sustainable businesses looking to partner or come to the Port."
