In order to keep Shoreham Port clean and tidy the Port has invested in a new sweeper truck which will be used on Basin Road South and the larger terminal areas. Previously the Port used a mini road sweeper to clear the quayside and incurred a considerable outlay every month to hire a larger sweeper. Training has taken place for numerous Port employees across a range of departments and the sweeper truck is now ready for use.
The new sweeper will enable the Port’s high standards to be maintained much more efficiently and it will be beneficial for many other Port users. Alan Motterham, Commercial/ Operations Director commented “Shoreham is an extremely clean and safe port and maintaining these high standards is a priority. Our proactive and efficient staff are key to our success and thanks goes to them for their hard work.”
Shoreham Port is committed to improving the environment and recognises their responsibility to reduce the impact of their activities on the surrounding area. Peter Davies, Development Director said "the new sweeper truck is a great step forward for improving the environmental performance of the Port and it is the first of many improvements planned over the coming months”.
