Shoreham Port hosted its third year of sell out boat tours as part of the Brighton Fringe Festival this week. Over 700 visitors enjoyed a behind-the-scenes boat tours as the Port increased its participation from one day to two days to meet demand. The tours included live commentary along the canal, taking in all the action from the terminals.
The live commentary was provided by members of the Senior Leadership Team at Shoreham Port and covered a wide range of topics from the Port’s performance, updates on keys cargoes and major tenants and the Port’s plans for the future, including the latest development projects taking place.
Katie MacAllister, Marketing & Communications Manager at Shoreham Port commented “Thank you to everyone who came down for a tour. The weather has been in our favour this year, everyone had a fantastic time and we thoroughly enjoyed meeting and talking with our visitors. We are very proud to be part of the Brighton Fringe line-up, giving our stakeholders the chance to experience the Port from the water. We look forward to offering our tours again next year.”
Lesley Sigee who attended one of the tours commented “The tour was brilliant and so informative. I thoroughly enjoyed it and found the commentary very entertaining. It’s so interesting to learn more about something we pass every day. Thank you so much to the Port for hosting the event and for the free coffee and ice cream too!”
Cary Lee who also attended a tour commented “It was wonderful to see everything from the perspective of the water and how busy the terminals are. There’s so much you don’t realise when you pass the Port day to day. From the interesting architecture to all the different cargoes being discharged, it was an extremely enlightening tour. It’s great to learn about the Ports Eco credentials and everything the Port does for the environment. I would definitely recommend.”
