For the 4th consecutive year, Shoreham Port entertained customers and associates at Fontwell Park Racecourse. The customer day, held on the 4th October, was a fantastic occasion for Port staff to thank existing customers for their business. The customer day also gave Port staff the opportunity to discuss the latest developments at Shoreham, improvements to facilities and a chance to answer any questions about the many services Shoreham has to offer.

After a welcome from Shoreham Port’s Chief Executive, Rodney Lunn, guests sat down for a delicious three course lunch. Not long after the meal, it was then time to prepare for the first race of the day, the Shoreham Port Authority Juvenile Maiden Hurdle, which kicked off at 2.10pm. Sponsoring the first race added to the excitement of the meeting and many were present to congratulate the winning owner, trainer and jockey at the prize giving, where Shoreham Port Board Members Stuart Condie and Ian Postlethwaite presented the winning award.

Fiona Morris, Deputy Chair of Shoreham Port commented on the day “Fontwell did us proud, it was a fantastic suite. We received great service and had the ability to welcome in a vast range of clients, customers and contractors. It is an excellent place to spend time in informal congenial surroundings”.

Ray Speigal, Agency Manager at Cory Brothers also commented “It was a very enjoyable and successful day, many thanks to our hosts Shoreham Port”. And Andrejs Iljenko, Broker at Astramar Transport, added “I thoroughly enjoyed the racing and it was very nice to be able to socialise with people in an informal and relaxed setting”.

As the final runners and riders headed to the start for the last race of the day, Shoreham Port staff and customers reflected over another busy year at the Port. Rodney Lunn, Chief Executive of Shoreham Port said “Thank you to all who attended our annual customer day and joined with us to celebrate a successful year at the Port. As our Operations Division remains busy, we thank our existing customers for their continued support. A great day was had by all and we anticipate an equally enjoyable event next year”.
