Ditch the Label are an award winning anti-bullying charity based in the centre of Brighton. The charity provides pioneering digital advice, support and training for young people through their website and partnerships with key online communities such as The Student Rooms and Twitter.

Ditch the Label contacted the Port in search of an industrial landscape that they could use for their photo shoot, to advertise their unique brand of clothing. The Port’s Pump House provided the perfect location for a slightly unusual yet edgy back drop for their pictures.

The charity have produced innovative research designed to explore the complex and changing nature of bullying and the wider impact that this has upon the mental, emotional and physical health of young people.

Georgia Ellis, Marketing and Communications Assistant at Shoreham Port commented “It was great to have Ditch the Label on site and learn more about the charity and how they benefit our society. They provide an incredible service to young people and are definitely a cause worth supporting. The photo shoot went to plan and it was really interesting to see the photographer utilise the space in our Pump House.”

Darcy Eastwood, Events and Fundraising Coordinator for Ditch the Label commented “We wanted to use Shoreham Port as it was exactly what we were looking for in terms of look, feel and location. Using the Port gave us the opportunity to really get what we wanted from the shoot, which was an edgy and industrial look in keeping with the Ditch the Label brand. It was really enjoyable to be able to work with a great local organisation and have an amazing and productive day out.

All money raised through our merchandise sales goes straight back into supporting young people who experience bullying and by having professional and more editorial photos, we will be able to further promote these ranges and continue the vital work that we do in ridding bullying from the lives of young people.

We’d like to take the opportunity to thank the staff at Shoreham Port for helping us to make this shoot a huge success.”
