Each year Shoreham Port looks forward to their Customer Day where they thank customers and contractors for their continued support. Customers from as far away as Latvia and Sweden joined Shoreham Port at Fontwell Park Racecourse this week for an afternoon of jump racing.
The day got off to a great start with the first race taking place shortly after lunch. Guests then had the chance to watch Shoreham Port Board Members, Joanne Newell and Carolyn Dwyer present the prize to the winning owner and trainer of Noble Friend in the fourth race – the Shoreham Port Handicap Chase.
Joanne Newell commented “We always try to make our Customer Day an informal and friendly event. With our customers based all over Europe it is great to have an occasion to bring everyone together and cement and develop long standing relationships.”
Malcolm White from Sydenhams, independent timber and building merchants commented “We’ve had a fantastic day with great company, delicious food and thankfully good weather! The Customer Day is a brilliant occasion to put faces to the names of the many people we speak to on a regular basis and a great networking opportunity.”
Rodney Lunn, Chief Executive at Shoreham Port added “Thank you to everyone who joined us at Fontwell yesterday, an excellent day was had by all. It is not often that you have the opportunity to talk to so many people within the port industry at the same time. It was great to hear our customer’s plans for the future and discuss how Shoreham Port can work with them to help grow their business.”
