Shoreham Port has launched another new apprenticeship scheme in an effort to recruit a young local person to join part of the busy Engineering Team & develop their skills.

PETA training and Consultancy Services Ltd a specialist provider of apprenticeship recruitment and training, matches employers with quality  employees and will now work with the Port in training the ideal candidate. Nine prime candidates turned up to face the selection interview process in the hope of becoming a qualified fabricator/welder.

Allan Davies, Engineering Training Manager, at PETA Ltd said, “It is always encouraging to help employers develop their workforce through the addition of an apprentice. PETA are delighted to work with Shoreham Port in this Apprenticeship Programme in which we aim to get the apprentice qualified and certified in the chosen engineering skills and assist the Port in having a motivated and dedicated addition to their Engineering Team”.

Paul Johnson, Safety & Human Resources Director said, “Shoreham Port is fully behind this innovative scheme. The programme is mutually beneficial for both employers and young local people, and this is a fantastic scheme, which we are pleased to be supporting”.
