21 December 2012

The decorations are up at Shoreham Port and everyone is feeling festive on the countdown to Christmas! 2012 has been a year full of developments and activity. One of the Port’s most notable activities has been the construction of a giant, state-of-the-art steel stockholding and processing plant now occupied by Parker Steel. The main workshop building, at three and a half acres is one of the largest single rooms on the south coast and will provide local employment for up to 200 staff. In addition to this, a new specialised grain facility has also been completed next to the silo’s, further enhancing the service provided to the local farmers.
Other highlights have included the Port raising their green credentials, working with many flourishing businesses on the Port and hosting creative campaigns with the local community. There are many more developments in the pipeline for 2013, such as new business, improved leisure facilities and renewable energy projects which are progressing well.
Instead of sending Christmas cards this year Shoreham Port has decided to donate to the charity, Your Space Your Time (YSYT). YSYT provides safe and fun play and activities for children and young people with motor, sensory, behavioural or learning difficulties.
Rodney Lunn, Chief Executive said “As we bid farewell to 2012 I would like to thank our staff for their hard work and dedication throughout the year. I would also like to thank our valued customers for their support and our stakeholders for their encouragement and interest in the Port.”
Merry Christmas from all the team at Shoreham Port!
