SHOREHAM PORT’S VIRTUAL PUBLIC MEETING IS A SUCCESS

Shoreham Port were delighted to host their virtual Public Meeting on Tuesday of this week. Viewed via Zoom, the Port hosted 102 attendees to their interactive video meeting. Attendees included local Councillors, leisure users, tenants and local residents, as well as those from the wider maritime industry, who all tuned in to hear from Shoreham Port’s Chief Executive, Tom Willis and the Senior Leadership team for updates from across the Port’s wide-ranging departments.

Topics covered during the presentation included performance results for the year of 2019 and the development of the Port’s Masterplan, detailing goals such as continuing to invest in the Port’s infrastructure, developing the commercial zone to the north of the canal, and the Port’s aim to achieve net-zero air quality emissions by 2021.

In addition, the meeting highlighted the Port’s ongoing commitment as a Trust Port to supporting the local community throughout the COVID-19 pandemic and beyond, as well as their involvement in the Diversity in Maritime initiative.

Attendees were encouraged to submit their questions via an interactive live Q&A feature, with questions being answered alongside the presentation as well as a dedicated Q&A discussion following the presentation.

One stakeholder commented “As a new resident in the area, it was the first annual public meeting I have attended, and I was impressed with both the content and execution of the event. The Port made excellent use of the Zoom platform in the circumstances. I was also very interested to hear about the various community-related initiatives that the Port are engaged in and see the enthusiasm of the leadership team.”

Tom commented “It was fantastic to hear from so many of our valued stakeholders this Tuesday at our virtual Public Meeting. Our team enjoyed sharing insights into the Port's performance during 2019, our developed Masterplan, and our exciting plans and projects for the coming year."
