Construction of Shoreham Port’s latest property development, Ferry Wharf, is well underway this month, with the foundations having now been laid and members of the various teams collaborating on the project in attendance at the construction site.
Brighton & Hove and its surrounding areas are a focal point of the tech industry, attracting investment and talent to the region. Both Brighton and Hove’s digital and travel economies are worth more than £1billion per annum, with the need for adaptable and modern office space only continuing to rise. Landlords such as Shoreham Port nurture small businesses in the area.
As an EcoPort, Shoreham Port continues to ensure that sustainability is at the forefront of the design within each new development, with each new site following a template of high sustainability standards. Therefore, the units will have solar panels, and will be fitted with electric vehicle charging points, cycle storage and on-site recycling storage facilities. The business units will also have practical and hygienic water saving measures such as flow restrictors, water-efficient white goods and dual flush toilets.
The site, which was previously a concrete recycling centre, will host six individual business units that can be combined to provide larger accommodation if required. The contemporary design of the business spaces will match the existing design of those at Hove Enterprise Centre, with the terrace of six commercial units being set over two floors, with double-height entrances and 1,500sqft of space in each unit. The units will offer a ground floor open plan office area with stairs to a mezzanine first floor.
Much like Shoreham Port’s other recent developments, Lady Bee Enterprise Centre and Hove Enterprise Centre, the Ferry Wharf development is being built by a fantastic local collaboration between Pilbeam Construction, ECE Architecture and MacConvilles Surveying, among others.
