Shoreham Port have solidified their commitment to supporting Shoreham Academy’s Gateway Centre by committing to the significant annual donation of £20,000 for the next five years, as part of their Community and Stakeholder Request (CSR) funding. As a Trust Port, the Port strives to support their stakeholders and give back to the local community that it serves, often providing time, resources, and in some cases, financial help, to organisations that align with their CSR criteria.
Established by Shoreham Academy five years ago, The Gateway Centre is a school provision that aims to support the most vulnerable young people aged 10-16 within the local areas of Shoreham, Southwick and Fishersgate. The facility provides a supportive environment for students who, due to experiencing deprivation or mental health issues, find mainstream school challenging, and enables access to closer staff teaching, support and guidance. Students are therefore able to gain the key qualifications, high levels of attendance and most importantly, confidence, to secure further study, a future that otherwise would not be possible.

Their generous donation of £20,000 this year will enable us to continue supporting the most vulnerable young people within our local community, which is especially important in the aftermath of Covid-19. Thank you to the team for their continued support which is helping transform the lives of our students.”
