Shoreham Port continues to enhance business units across their established property portfolio for local companies, with a range of improvements being implemented in recent months, including a replacement roof at their Maritime House site on Hove seafront.

Simon Argles, Director of Camroux Project Management & Construction commented "Having modernised the Units at Albion Street in 2018, we are very pleased to be giving the tired looking warehouse at Maritime House a new lease of life. The first stage of replacing the roof is now complete and we will be looking to mobilise stage two during next week which consists of creating the 13 new storage units with roller shutters on the North side, as well as freshening up the appearance of the South side with the addition of new uPVC doors and windows."

Much like the Port’s recently demolished shed 1, one of the oldest sheds on the Port, the roof at their Maritime House warehouse will be replaced with the very latest insulation and weather proofing to improve safety and sustainability.

The work involved completely reroofing, cladding and changing all windows and doors at the warehouse to improve the streetscape along Basin Road North and the approach to the site.

Brian Rousell, Director of Engineering & IT added “We’re really pleased to be making further progress in our efforts to modernise our sites around the Port, as well as enhancing our tenanted properties whilst creating more space for solar panels on the roofs."

In addition, the Port will be installing a range of affordable new self-storage units for the benefit of local businesses later in the year, with a variety of safe and secure easy access facilities. The installation will include 13 self-storage units along the north side of the Maritime House warehouse.

Tim Hague, Director of Property & Development commented ‘"The improvements at Maritime House warehouse look fantastic and will increase our safety and sustainability credentials as an EcoPort with insulation and space for solar panels.”

Tim continued “We are also very much looking forward to the introduction of self-storage units for our tenants and local companies later in the year, which will enable us to continue supporting business growth and companies in the local area as we emerge from the Covid-19 pandemic.”
