The Shoreham Port Authority, as the competent harbour authority for the purposes of the Pilotage Act 1987 for Shoreham Port and its approaches in pursuance of its powers under Section 7 of the said Act, hereby directs that from 1 st October 1988 pilotage shall be compulsory for all vessels, except those whose overall length does not exceed 50 metres and which are not carrying Dangerous Goods in the following are:

  • All waters within the Port
  • So much of the area outside the Port as lies within an area enclosed by the lines of longitude at 00 12°W and 00 16°W and an imaginary line between these lines of longitude one nautical mile due south from low-water ordinary spring tides.

Note: Pilotage Exemption Certificates may be applied for by bona fide masters and first mates of vessels.
