Completely integrated service for customers
Whether an importer or exporter, the journey from ship’s hold to quay, quay to warehouse, warehouse to road and onwards to the end customer, Shoreham Port is perfectly poised, with competitive and efficient intermodal connections providing a completely integrated service for consumers.
Shoreham Port’s unique geographic position and services, combined with good road links to the main motorway networks of the UK, mean that it is excellently positioned to distribute products within the UK and to continental Europe. Regular liner services sail to Shoreham from many Scandinavian, Baltic and European ports including:
- Estonia - Tallinn
- Latvia - Riga and Ventspils
- Lithuania - Klaipeda
- Finland - Mantyluoto, Vuoksi, Raahe, Rahja and Valko
- Sweden - Karlshamn, Norrkoping, Oskarshamn, Vasteras and Kalmar
- Russia - St. Petersburg, Archangel
- Spain - Pasajes
Cargo is handled at Shoreham on port-operated wharves. Sussex Port Forwarding (SPF), the Port’s stevedoring subsidiary, handles the wide diversity of imported and exported cargoes through the Port.
The efficiency of the Port is well known in the industry and it has an established reputation for a fast turnaround of vessels, just one of the added value services that sets Shoreham apart from other ports.
Sussex Port Forwarding has developed a high-tech method of tracking cargo throughout the Port. The ‘Track-a-Pack’ system works through the bar coding of every parcel that arrives on the quay. Radio frequency technology is used to transfer information about the movement of stock to the system. Customers are able to log into the system to see precise, up to date details about their stock.
