Jason Anker (2)

Silver 2017In February 2016 all staff were invited to attend a talk by Jason Anker MBE from Proud2bSafe. Jason gave a motivational talk to staff on the importance of health and safety in the workplace. Those who attended were questioned about their own relationship to safety, with the use of film, live presentation and finally making a personal commitment to safety.

Jason suffered a life changing accident at work 23 years ago which inspired him to share his own story with others to change the way we think about safety, not just in the workplace but in everything we do.

Shoreham Port is now accredited with Silver membership to Proud2bSafe and will continue to work with Jason and his team to deliver the highest levels of safety training to its staff.

Shoreham Port fully supports this excellent safety initiative by Proud2bSafe as it will clearly demonstrate our commitment to safety. We found Jason Anker an absolute inspiration when he came to the Port and delivered his powerful safety message to our staff. The impact on our workforce was so positive that it has contributed to a successful and healthy safety culture. We want to continually improve in all that we do when it comes to operating safely and the Proud2bSafe initiative will assist us with our safety journey. We are looking forward to being part of something unique.
