SHOREHAM PORT APPOINT FIRST FEMALE DEPUTY CHAIR

Shoreham Port are delighted to announce that Fiona Morris has been appointed as Deputy Chair. Fiona was originally appointed to the Board in January 2006 and since then she has represented the Board on both the Port Users’ Group and other stakeholder functions.

Fiona lives locally in Brighton and has over 30 years of commercial, operational and business continuity experience and has been responsible for driving through major technological and organisational change and development. She was the first female Production Director and Managing Director of a press centre responsible for printing and distributing two national newspapers.

Fiona Morris said “I am thrilled to be appointed Deputy Chair of Shoreham Port and look forward to continuing to contribute towards the considerable success of the port. There are many exciting projects taking place in the port, including the new £10m purpose built steel processing facility for Parker Steel which will create up to 200 new local jobs when it opens in April 2012. Shoreham Port is a major driver for the Sussex economy with 1400 jobs within the Port area and is in/directly supporting many thousands of jobs in the South East. I am committed to keeping Shoreham Port at the heart of the community”.
