All reports to Shoreham Port Authority are taken very seriously and will be investigated.

To demonstrate the authorities commitment to maritime safety and ensure the involvement of harbour users, a monthly marine safety report will be published.

INCIDENT / DEFECT REPORTS

A person jumping from the Adur Ferry Bridge

A sailing dingy was not showing clear intentions whilst a commercial vessel was navigating within the canal

A small commercial vessel suffered mechanical failure whilst entering the Prince Philip Lock.

Unattended paddleboard drifting east of the Middle Pier.

Retrieved by Lifeboat and returned to the Lifeboat Station

 Measures have been put in to place to help prevent a reoccurence.

The vessel was assisted onto the lay-by Terminal and the fault was rectified

The board was repatriated with its owner by the stakeholder.

 The Prince Phillip Lock pedestrian walkway gates had to be opened when a member of public tried to cross whilst they were closing. The water in the lock equalised to the canal and the mitre gates opened slightly.
