Edgeley Green Power Renewable Energy Project

Latest update: 07/10/2016

Renewable energy plant not to go ahead

Edgeley Green PowerThe proposed Edgeley Green Power renewable energy plant for the Fishersgate Terminal (next to the current Shoreham Power Station) will NOT now go ahead.

The plant was expected to be up and running by the end of this year, but recent changes in Government energy policy and also funding issues meant the company have had to pull out of the agreement for the land.

It would have produced 32 megawatts of electricity, supplying the equivalent of up to 18,000 homes as well as low cost heat for use by businesses, schools and residents in the area.

Instead the site will be developed as a bulk cargo handling facility to meet growing demand and will be managed directly by Shoreham Port.
